| This adventure started in 1999, when the Torres family acquired a large estate of centuries old olive trees in the area of Les Garrigues in the Lleida region, an olive growing area par excellence.
Together with the ever-increasing interest shown in the Mediterranean diet, in which Torres was already involved via its wine products, this acquisition provided an opportunity to break into the gastronomic market for premium products, assisted by the values and prestige already enjoyed by the Torres brand.
